7 Letter Wordle Solver

Type a number from 2 to 15. Classic Solver, Smart Guess Assistant, and Clue-Based Finder all use it. Changing it clears the current guesses.

This is the solver preset to seven letters. Enter the seven-letter word you played, mark each tile with the color the puzzle showed, and submit. Every seven-letter word that fits your rows stays on the list, and the ranked next guess updates with it. Rows scroll sideways on a phone, so all seven tiles stay full size.

Best starting words for 7 letters

Seven-letter words are long enough that two-thirds of them contain an E and about half contain S, I, A, or R. In this list E appears in 66% of words, S in 53%, I in 48%, A in 47%, and R in 45%. The engine's top openers against the full list are RETAINS, NASTIER, and SENATOR. RETAINS and NASTIER use the same seven letters, so either one is a strong first guess. A good second guess brings in the next tier: N, T, O, L, and D.

How hard is a 7-letter puzzle?

There are 23,109 seven-letter words in the list, so the first row rarely cuts the field below a thousand. That is normal. By the second row, fourteen marked tiles usually leave a few dozen words, and the Possible answers panel becomes readable. Repeated letters are more common at this length, and the solver handles them with the same two-pass rule as the puzzle: one copy can be yellow while the extra copy is gray. You do not need to track that yourself.

How to use the 7 letter Wordle solver

  1. Play a 7-letter guess in your puzzle.
  2. Type that word into the first row above. Letters per word is already set to 7.
  3. Click each tile until it shows the puzzle’s color: gray for absent, yellow for wrong spot, green for correct spot.
  4. Submit the row. The possible answers and the best next guess update together.
  5. Play a suggested word, bring back its colors, and repeat until one word is left.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the first guess leave so many words?

Seven tiles can only split 23,109 words so far. A good opener leaves roughly a thousand. That is expected; the second guess does most of the work. Pick a next guess that tests new letters rather than re-using ones you already know.

Can I change to a different length from this page?

Yes. Type any number from 2 to 15 in Letters per word. The board, the word list, and the Clue-Based Finder all switch. Changing the length clears the rows.
